We are very proud of our positive reputation within the immediate and wider community and appreciate you taking the time to explore our school website to view the opportunities we can offer your child and family. The Bethanga culture is one of care and respect, where partnerships between home and school are encouraged and nurtured.
Our small school provides a happy and safe atmosphere where all children are known and can mix and care for each other. At Bethanga, we ‘treat others as we would like to be treated’ and this is reflected in the respectful behaviour demonstrated by our students and staff.
We offer a wide range of programs with literacy and numeracy development highlighted as a priority. High expectations are held for each child, students are challenged to set and strive towards their own learning goals. Class sizes are small and facilitate personalised teaching and learning. Our school is equipped with iPads, laptops and a Com Box & Webex which allow us to embed technology into learning sessions to enhance the outcomes for our students. Our students have access to a music specialist once a fortnight who facilitates classroom programs and support the development of the arts through our School Production (every second year).
We also support the emotional and social wellbeing of each child through our Emotional Intelligence (EQ) program and as a lead school for Respectful Relationships. Through explicit lessons teamed with games, we develop life skills for each of our students to ensure they are being the best that they can be.
Our grounds are extensive and well maintained. We provide a variety of playground experiences including a sandpit, shaded play equipment, undercover decking areas, oval, sensory play space and a well-resourced sports shed.
We are environmentally conscious with solar panels, large water tanks, veggie gardens and our own chickens. We have also been awarded a Landcare grant to support the developing relationship between Bethanga Primary School and Bethanga Landcare to rejuvenate and care for our local environment.
Our school is an active member of our small schools cluster. We regularly participate in excursions and camps together to support the development of friendships across schools.
Our staff are passionate about making a difference to the academic, social and emotional learning of your child. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or wish to book a tour.
Kind regards,
RACHEL SAUNDERS
